Ok so apparently i have to use premium oil to change my car oil for my 2006 Dodge Charger for maximum performance.But it cost quite alot with and average of $60+ and i can save and spend that money on new shoes or take my girl out.

Actually changing oil on a Dodge Charger is one of the easiest vehicles to change oil on. I Just got done changing mine (2007 Dodge Charger) and all It required me to have was a drain bucket 2$ @ Wal-Mart, good oil and decent oil filter 20-25$ Basic oil like Pennzoil and basic oil filter you can get for 15$ but must change this kind of oil EVERY 3,000 miles, and an oil filter wrench which is about another 5-8$. After you change your oil the first time you will not have to buy the drain pan and the oil filter wrench as you will already have it so every oil change from there on out will be about 20$. I am not sure if you have ever changed oil but it is easy. Under your car you will see a black panel that says "remove for vehicle maintenance" their are four 10mm bolts holding this panel on. Once you remove that you will see the oil pan. Right next to the oil pan is the oil filter. Remove the 13mm drain plug in the oil pan and make sure that you have the drain pan under as the oil will be coming out once that is removed. (Make sure you wait a little after you drive your car so the oil has time to cool and does not burn your hand) let all the oil drain out until their is no more, once that is done reinstall the drain plug and tighten it immediately so you do not forget to tighten it later. You DO NOT need to tighten the drain plug real tight. Just snug it with the wrench as you WILL strip it out since they are aluminum. ( People make this error many times, even shops make this mistake 40% of the time.) After you tightened the drain plug you will use the wrench to take the oil filter off, the best way is to break it loose then use your hand to turn it loose about 1 more turn as oil will come spilling out. Let the oil spill out into the drain pan and then remove the oil filter completely. Take your new oil filter and dip your finger in the old oil and rub just a little bit around the new oil filter's rubber gasket on top of it, then HAND TIGHTEN this, DO NOT use the oil filter wrench to tighten this. After that wipe any oil that may have spilt onto the engine block and reinstall the black cover. Add about 4qts of oil and then check it, you should have to add some more but only until the max line on the dipstick. Once you have done this start the car for about 5-10 seconds and re-check the oil, you should have to add a little more oil.
